Ford E-Transit

The new image of what a large full-battery van should be, the E-Transit sets a fresh benchmark for its segment. It brings together all the elements of a great large van into an eco-friendly electric vehicle package.

The 68kwh battery provides the E-Transit with a range of 197 miles, and can be topped up to 80% at a DC charger in just 34 minutes. At home, the E-Transit can be powered with a 7.4kw home charger, taking 11.5 hours to go from empty to full.

You can pick from two motor options, either 184ps or 269ps – the latter being the highest in the EV market. These motors can carry a payload of up to 1758kg, with 10.7m3 to 15.1m3 of loadspace; unaffected by the EV installation.

It’s a safe option too, with a crash structure known as the “mega brace” designed to replicate the role of a conventional engine in a front-end accident. Other features include a choice of three driving modes, including normal, eco, and slippery. Fast, efficient, and certainly not workshy, the E-Transit is the modern standard for large electric vehicles.
