What is the ford transit custom all about?
Ford Transit custom (available from us here) is of the UK’s most popular vans with a dynamic new look which is designed to compete with the iconic VW Transporter. Taking the place of old Ford Transit SWB it’s a huge step forward and deceptively providing the load space and comes in L1 or L2 varieties and two heights H1 and H2 giving good versatility in the medium van sector. The van is not only good to look at its great to drive and economical with several power options to choose from.
Trim Levels
The van comes in three key versions, Base, Trend and top of the range Limited. All come adjustable drivers seat, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, dual front passenger seat and a full steel bulkhead. Key differentials:
Trend has added: wheel trims, cornering lights, front fog lights, power mirrors, rain sensor wipers, auto headlights, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, heated windscreen.
Limited over Trend has: colour coded bodyside mouldings, 16” alloys, power folding mirrors, heated seats, air conditioning, DAB radio.
Engines
There are various power options for the Ford Transit Custom van delivered all from a 2.0 litre Ford ecoblue engine. These are, 105ps, 130ps and 170ps, of which we think that the 130ps engine hits the spot with a good power range and fuel economy. Obviously, in today’s important world of emissions, all these engines meet the Ultra Low Emission Zone standards. So, if you are working in or around such areas you will not have to worry.
Connectivity
Connectivity wise, the Ford transit custom vans are fitted with Sync 3 as standard for Limited specification and Sport models (cost option on other models). This gives the ability to have mirror drive and apple car play which in reality gets rid of the need for to add satellite navigation plus providing beneficial apps direct onto the vehicle.
